Selena Sced was born and raised in Kelowna. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor and a current member of the Canadian Association of Therapeutic Tutors. She has been tutoring children with language-based learning disabilities since 2012, and is well aware of the emotional struggles parents face as they attempt to successfully navigate a child with learning differences through the traditional school system. When she is not in her studio creating art, she can be found around Kelowna skiing, sailing and hiking with her husband and two boys. selena@whatstheword.ca

Birte Decloux has tremendous affinity to the experiences of a person with dyslexia. Her contribution in coordinating this resource for families with children who have dyslexia has been essential. Lucinda Nielsen is a learning disabilities tutor with over 13 years of experience. She is a true believer of the Orton-Gillingham method. She is a tutor supervisor with C.A.T.T. and has recently accepted a position on the board of the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors. As a wife, mother and grandmother she believes in the importance of research-based teaching methods for children who struggle with language based learning. Lucinda loves the Okanagan and enjoys skiing, golfing, gardening and travelling with her husband of 26 years. lucinda@whatstheword.ca
